Greg Lewis Hosts En Plein Aire: The Power of Painting Outdoors - Revisited

The French term En Plein Aire, or "in the open air" refers to drawings, paintings, watercolors that are completed on locations, outdoors. This presentation explores the experience of what the eye sees and the heart and hand expresses. The act of painting outdoors has long allured artists for centuries to heighten the visual senses, producing either a quick study painting, or a finished work of art. Among the notable plein aire artists are Claude Monet, Mary Cassatt, Winslow Homer, Pierre- Auguste Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh, Winston Churchill, just to name a few. This is a evening event to learn of the lifestyle experience of "En Plein Aire”.
