The OSA Rose Festival Show is an artistic celebration of the City of Portland and its traditions surrounding its iconic flower, the rose. This year the official Portland Rose Festival theme is “Dream Forward”. OSA is honored to participate in the events surrounding this festival by unveiling a portrait of this year’s Rose Festival Queen Deja.  Paintings presenting feature scenes from around Portland and still life portraits of our beloved roses.

This year’s Showcase was juried by RON STOCKE

Water Media: Spring Juried Show

Online through July 5
Juried by Sandra Pearce

The Gallery at OSA is pleased to announce the Spring Water Media Juried Show! This exhibition includes submissions in all types of water-soluble media, such as watercolor, gouache, acrylic, chalk pastel, etc. This show was open to any and all subject matter and aims to showcase the beauty and diversity of water media in all of its captivating forms.

The Water Media Show was juried by Sandra Pearce, an accomplished artist. Sandra Pearce was born in England; the family immigrated to America in the early 60’s. While crossing the Atlantic on the RMS Queen Mary, she won first place in the children’s drawing competition.
Art has always been at the forefront, and painting emerged as the expression of choice. A trip to Tuscany, Florence, Venice and the Italian Riviera ignited a new spark of excitement in Sandra’s work – she has countless future painting ideas from her travels around the USA, Europe and Canada.

OSA is proud to present our 3rd Annual Multicultural Showcase. The theme of this show is art that celebrates diversity of cultures both in the artists who show their work and the subject matter of our art. While all our shows are open to artists of all races, gender identity, orientation and religions, this show is a meant to be a reflection of Portland’s diverse community. It is a showcase of artwork about diverse cultures both internationally and domestic. Artists are free to depict subject matter from other countries as well as themes of our diverse domestic cultures. Our hope is to present a forum that promotes goodwill and understanding in an environment which is too often polarized and divided.
